Experience

I am honored to have served the Croton community as a school board member since 1998.

During my tenure, I have served at various times as President or Vice President and as the Board’s representative to the New York State School Boards Association annual business meeting. In addition, I have been a member of:

  • The Bus Electrification Task Force
  • The School Re-Entry Task Force
  • The Future Facilities Task Force
  • Building Planning Councils of each of the district’s schools
  • The Advocacy, Board Development, Communications, and Health and Safety Committees
  • Long-Range Educational Plan Committee
  • Liaison to the Village Bicycle-Pedestrian Committee

Currently, I am the chair of the Policy Committee (a role in which I have served throughout my time on the Board). I am also a member of the Board’s Audit Committee and the District-Wide Safety Team, and I serve as liaison to the CHHS Student Faculty Congress. I am a member of the district committees on Assessment and Feedback and on “What Success Means in Schools,” which has provided the opportunity to engage in deep discussions on those subjects with administrators, teachers, and parents, and (as a member of the Success committee) with students.

Since 2023, I have also been a member of the Putnam-Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (PNW BOCES) board. This experience provides me with insights into career and technical education (CTE) and special education opportunities that benefit our students outside our district’s programs.
